Why Poland?
Poland is located at the heart of the European continent and is one of the biggest countries in central Europe. In Poland, live more than 38.5 million people, and is placed in terms of population as a 34th place in the world and 6th in the European Union.
Poland is the European Union member since 2004
Over the last 25 years Polish economy doubled in size, as measured in terms of real GDP and according to Eurostat data, Polish GDP per capita in PPS stood at 71% of the EU average in 2018, up from 50% in the year prior to the accession to the European Union in 2004.

The Polish banking sector is the largest in the Central and Eastern European region, with 32.3 branches per 100,000 adults. The banks are the largest and most developed sector of the country's financial markets.

Poland was the only country in the European Union to avoid recession during the financial crisis (2008-2009). Today Poland is the eight-largest economy in the European Union in real GDP terms and can look back with pride on an impressive history of growth over more than two decades.
Water, water and… nature
Poland has a variety of striking landscapes, from the sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea coast in the north and the rolling central lowlands to the snowcapped peaks of the Carpathian and Sudeten Mountains in the south. Poland is home to one of Europe’s great lake districts. That would be Masurian Lakeland, which ebbs across 180 miles and 20,000 square miles in the north-east of the country. Poland has more than 2,000 lakes throughout the country.

Poland is ranked fifth in the world in yacht production volume and second in world production of yachts up to 10 meters in length (after the United States). An overwhelming majority of Poland’s yacht production (95%) is exported worldwide. Small pleasure boats of up to 10 meters dominate in Poland (89% of all registered recreational boats) and motor boats are the prevailing type of registered boats (80%).

According to the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports, the annual production of yachts in Poland ranges at 22,000 units. Cost-effective labor rates, a skilled workforce and the excellent quality of Polish yachts have created an attractive base for Poland’s boat building. Many globally known brands are produced in Poland, including Brunswick, Jeanneau-Benetau Group, Windy, Sea Ray, Bayliner and Askeladden. Every third yacht sailing in Europe was built in Poland.

The total number of boats registered in Poland is estimated at 27,000 (while the total number of boats stationed in Poland is estimated at 60,000). Motorboats represent the major market segment (80% of all boats registered), and pleasure boats of up to 10 meters dominate the local market (89% of all registered boats). Numerically, 17 thousand small motorboats up to 9 metres in length with the outboard engine are made in Poland every year. This amounts to the 50% share in the European market. The largest customer is Norway, where we exported units worth 70 million euro. France, Germany, the US, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK follow.

During last several years, with funds available from the EU infrastructure cohesion program, Poland has witnessed development of marinas and yacht ports. There are 38 marinas and 1236 harbors in the country, including over 60 marinas and ports located on the Baltic Sea, with capacity to accommodate 3,600 boats. Inland ports and marinas located on various waterways and lakes can accommodate over 60,000 boats. Also, local authorities’ strategy is to integrate existing waterways for better sailing opportunity.
